- Erling Haaland is ready to get Manchester City back on track when Tottenham visits the Etihad this Saturday.
City are currently second in the Premier League, but let’s be real: four straight losses away from home in all competitions isn’t exactly the form we’re used to. But Haaland isn’t worried. He’s all about turning things around, and fast.
“It’s an important game,” Haaland said. “Tottenham’s always tough, but it’s a game we can enjoy. We need to perform better than we have been and start winning again. That’s what Manchester City does. Let’s attack.”
With Pep Guardiola’s key players returning from injury—finally!—City will be looking to bounce back after the international break. Rodri and Oscar Bobb are still out, but there’s hope some of the injured stars might return against Spurs.
Haaland, ever the optimist, isn’t dwelling on the past few weeks. “It’s been okay,” he said. “Not perfect, but we’re staying positive. We started strong, then hit some bumps, but we keep looking forward. We need to attack the games.”
In typical Haaland fashion, he’s keeping the vibe upbeat. “We’ve had injuries, but whoever plays has to give their best for the team. The mood is good. People are happy. I’m happy. We’re staying positive.”
This match marks the first time City fans will get to celebrate Rodri’s Ballon d’Or win at the Etihad, and it’s also the first game since Guardiola signed his new contract.
Haaland had nothing but praise for his manager: “Pep’s always helping me improve. He cares about the team and challenges me to get better every day. He’s intense, but I love it. He’s honest, direct, and always looking for ways to push me to the next level.”
So, Cityzens, ready for a dominant performance? Haaland’s fired up and wants to show what City’s really made of. Let’s see if they can attack Spurs and show us what Manchester City is all about.
