Real Madrid star ‘REJECTED a very attractive offer from Man City in the summer despite personal problems at LaLiga giants’

Manchester City’s summer transfer spree almost included Real Madrid’s rising star, Rodrygo, but the Brazilian opted to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu despite a “very attractive offer.”

According to reports from Relevo, City made a bold move for the forward following his standout 2023-24 season. Rodrygo netted 18 goals and provided nine assists, often shining in crucial moments during Real Madrid’s LaLiga and Champions League triumphs.

But even with those heroics, the 23-year-old found himself playing second fiddle to the club’s poster boys, Jude Bellingham and Vinícius Jr. Add some “personal problems” and a sense of being underappreciated into the mix, and Rodrygo reportedly gave the idea of a move to Manchester serious thought.

A Deal That Never Was:

While Manchester City’s proposal was enticing, Rodrygo ultimately chose loyalty and ambition over a new challenge. Los Blancos, firm in their stance, refused to entertain any notion of parting with their talented winger. Both club and player were keen to continue their relationship.

Instead, Pep Guardiola’s side signed fellow Brazilian Savinho, who has yet to make a significant impact in the Premier League.

Pressure at the Bernabeu:

The arrival of Kylian Mbappé in the summer only heightened speculation over Rodrygo’s future. Despite this, the forward has continued to feature regularly under Carlo Ancelotti, contributing five goals and four assists across 20 appearances so far this season.

For now, it seems Rodrygo remains a key part of Real Madrid’s plans, even as whispers of discontent and interest from elsewhere linger in the background.

Would City come knocking again next summer? With Guardiola’s relentless pursuit of talent, the story may not be over.
