“South-South at the Heart of Nigeria’s Growth Agenda — My Meeting with the Vice President”

On August 13, 2025, I had the privilege of paying a courtesy visit to the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 𝐇𝐢𝐬 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐊𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐦 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐚, 𝐆𝐂𝐎𝐍.

In our constructive engagement, the Vice President encouraged me to work with renewed commitment and focus on unlocking the vast but underutilized wealth of the South-South region. He emphasized strategic priorities such as economic diversification through Special Economic Zones (SEZs), agro-processing, SME support, and human capital development, particularly in education and health.

We also deliberated on advancing skills acquisition and youth empowerment, enhancing regional security, and driving critical infrastructure projects.

His Excellency expressed confidence in my capacity to deliver on these priorities, in alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision for accelerated regional development. I remain committed to transforming this mandate into tangible progress for the South-South and Nigeria at large.
