Real Madrid still have Alphonso Davies shot as transfer saga reaches ‘decisive moment’
Real Madrid’s pursuit of Alphonso Davies has hit a pivotal juncture, with Bayern Munich gaining momentum in their bid to keep the Canadian star.
Despite being eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement with Los Blancos, Davies appears closer to extending his stay in Germany, though the saga is far from over.
According to The Athletic, Davies’ agent, Nedal Huoseh, was in Munich last week for discussions with Bayern, with more meetings scheduled this week.
German sources have suggested that a contract renewal is “on the verge” of completion, boosting Bayern’s confidence in securing the player’s future.
Interestingly, Real Madrid still have a shot at turning the tide. While optimism is waning in Madrid, Huoseh and Davies are reportedly open to hearing proposals from other suitors before any deal is finalized.
However, this would require Real Madrid to deviate from their current stance. Having agreed on personal terms with Davies as early as March 2024, the Spanish giants have largely played the waiting game, refusing to engage in negotiations or increase their offer.
This strategy could ultimately backfire if Bayern lock Davies down with a lucrative new deal. Yet, Real Madrid’s willingness—or lack thereof—to re-enter the race with an improved proposal could decide the fate of the saga.
For now, all eyes remain on Munich as Davies approaches a defining moment in his career.
