What to Expect 🙂
The Inside Gist:
- Man City manager, Pep Guardiola, is projecting that the club would likely avoid another loss
- Man City Women’s Football Club lost (4 – 0) to Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, Women
- There’s hope for Man City in the coming game with Brighton if things turn out well for the club, per Guardiola’s projection
At the peak and the current state of his career, nowhere has it been heard that Pep Guardiola of Man City lost four games in a row in the leagues.
With the club traveling to Brighton later today, however, a lot is at stake for him. But, Cityzens don’t have to panic much, at all, as Pep is quite confident that City would beat Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. in the games.
Clearly. There’s still the prospect of him losing four consecutive matches for the first time in his career, and Man City could be in for having that in the records, as well. But, he is confident that things can turn out for the best.
“Manchester City do not need extra reassurance,” he says. But, again, Brighton could fall back and City could bring the victory home. Anything is possible as far as the game is on.
The Losses:
Recall that Manchester City recorded all three previous recent losses in different competitions. For instance, the first loss to Tottenham in the EFL Cup round of 16.
Moreover, City lost to Bournemouth in the Premier League and, more recently, before losing to the Women’s side of Tottenham in the Women’s Super League, lost to Sporting CP in the Champions League.
- Fact-check: Manchester City Women’s FC made their 1st appearance in the Women’s Super League on November 8, 2024, while Tottenham Hotspur F.C. Women made their 7th appearance in the league.
Now. Cityzens have not been on this sprint of a possible four consecutive losses since the games. The first time they’d did so was between May and August 2021. . . It is, in fact, the first time since April 2018.
Man City Being in a ‘Dark Place’
Bernardo Silva, who is now 30 years old, said Man City were in a ‘dark place’ following their loss in the game at Sporting on Tuesday. Guardiola, on the other hand, does not think exactly that.
He does not also believe he needs to provide any extra motivation to help get his players back to winning ways. Cityzens might want to be hopeful and expect the best.
- Fact-check: Bernardo Silva is a Portuguese professional footballer who now plays as a midfielder or right winger for the Premier League club Manchester City. He is also qualified to play and has been playing for the Portugal national team.
Pep Guardiola Words:
In his words regarding the coming game with Brighton & Hove Albion F.C., later today, at exactly 6:30 PM, November 9, 2024, Pep Guardiola was quoted as saying:
“I don’t think [the players need extra reassurance]. Of course, we are not used to losing three games in three different competitions, but it is football, and it has happened.”
Adding to his statement, he admitted while being hopeful that things turn out well at Brighton:
“We know the reason why we struggle, but we are looking forward to this game, and after the international break, and after that, a few players will be back and recovered. All the little problems we have with players will be solved. I hope.”
Regardless of how hopeful he has been about the game at Brighton, he is not also afraid of a possible disappointment:
“There always is a first time [to lose four straight]. Hopefully, it is not the case.”
“Twenty minutes against Fulham, we were not good; against Bournemouth, we were not good, but the rest of the games, we were good. We are good. We will see what happens.”
Over to you, Cityzen, what’s your prediction on the Man City vs Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. match later today? Let’s keep the conversation going and keep hoping for a good turn out.
