‘We should NOT go to the transfer window’ – Pep Guardiola provides cryptic answer when quizzed on Man City deals for Omar Marmoush, Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis

Manchester City are reportedly chasing three high-profile targets this January—Omar Marmoush, Abdukodir Khusanov, and Vitor Reis—but Pep Guardiola has offered a cryptic response when asked about the club’s transfer plans.

According to reports, the reigning champions are looking to reinforce their squad after a challenging season that sees them sitting sixth in the Premier League table, 12 points adrift of leaders Liverpool. However, Guardiola was noncommittal when quizzed on links to the trio.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Guardiola said, “All month you’re going to ask the same about all we are linked with in the media, so I’m not going to talk. You can insist, but I don’t know the situation. We know we should not go to the transfer window. I don’t like it much. The situation with many injuries has forced us to consider it, but what will happen, I don’t know.”

When pressed specifically about Eintracht Frankfurt striker Omar Marmoush, Guardiola dismissed further discussion. “Listen, was I not clear in my answer? I’m not going to talk. He’s a player from another club. You can ask in every single press conference, but I won’t answer questions about transfers.”

City are reportedly in talks with all three players as Guardiola seeks solutions to injuries and inconsistencies in defense, midfield, and attack.

Despite his reluctance to confirm deals, the club’s need for reinforcements remains apparent as they prepare for an FA Cup third-round clash with Salford City on Saturday.
