Just In: Man City now agree terms with £25,000-p/w top target over immediate move
Manchester City are edging closer to securing the services of Eintracht Frankfurt’s Omar Marmoush, with reports confirming a full verbal agreement between the player and the Premier League champions.
According to Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, the Egyptian striker has been a standout performer in the Bundesliga this season, delivering 13 goals and eight assists in just 15 appearances. His form has made him one of the most sought-after forwards in Europe, and City are now leading the race for his signature.
Pep Guardiola’s side, struggling with an unusual dip in form, is urgently seeking reinforcements. With injuries to Rodri and John Stones adding to their woes and Julian Alvarez’s summer departure leaving a gap in attack, Marmoush is seen as the ideal solution to reignite their season.
While personal terms are reportedly agreed, a deal with Frankfurt remains in negotiation. The German club is demanding €80 million (£67m), a fee City are hesitant to meet outright, but talks are expected to intensify in the coming days.
If completed, the move would not only provide City with a much-needed attacking boost but also significantly elevate Marmoush’s career. Currently earning £25,000 per week, the forward could receive a substantial pay increase at the Etihad.
Pairing Marmoush with Erling Haaland could transform City’s fortunes in the second half of the season, giving Guardiola a dynamic duo capable of restoring their dominance in both domestic and European competitions.
