Jack Grealish would’ve been playing in the ongoing game, especially as Man City plays against Brighton & Hove Albion later today (November 9, 2024). But, he can’t due to his injuries.
Apparently, his most recent appearance was during the game that Manchester City won against Wolves at Molineux, in a 2-1 clear win in favor of Man City.
Jack didn’t come to play with the club’s win because he quite literally did come off the bench and made a critical contribution to Manchester City’s last-gasp win. Anyway, that was a while ago, but he could’ve been a good fit in these recent games.
That Wolves win was iconic for City. However, Jack has been away with an undisclosed injury. But speaking yesterday, City’s manager, Pep Guardiola, provided some clarity on the situation surrounding City’s winger.
Recall that Guardiola, ahead of the match against Brighton, says that he is confident that City could beat Brighton in the games later today. He is, we’d come to find, hopeful and has been a motivational buddy to his players.
Speaking before Man City takes on Brighton later today, Guardiola when asked about the form of Jack Grealish this season, told the media during his pre-game press conference that Grealish has suffered several injury setbacks this season.
“He’s had two or three setbacks in terms of injuries that could not be his rhythm, this is the only problem. (So how is he?) He has to (be upbeat), we have to (keep him motivated). At the end, he has to be fit to play. But it’s not only Jack, there are many players that happened, this is the reality.”
What Transpired:
Apparently, what made Jack Grealish’s situation even more confusing was his selection in England’s squad for their upcoming UEFA Nations League matches.
Obviously, it is now a bone of contention for Pep Guardiola to see England national team name Grealish in their squad when he is unfit to play for Manchester City. But, anyway, that one will be talked more about in the coming days.
A while ago, Jack Grealish looked all-ready and set for a big season after missing out on selection in England’s squad for last summer’s European Championships. But, Injuries. They are usually not predictable.
Jack would’ve made an impact for City in the ongoing games, but that’s only to be expected. Now. Due to his injury, the hope now is he can return after the international break and help his team.
However, he must first get over the injury that has kept him out in recent weeks. One thing is sure, as always though, his return would be felt.
